Our client, a major global advertising agency, is looking for a talented Media Director to join it's Media team in Tokyo. They have won 2 huge new clients in the Media team in Japan and are looking to expand their team rapidly in 2023. This is an amazing opportunity to lead the digital media team for Japan. Reporting into the Head of Media Japan, this is a vital leadership role for the agency, one where you will be challenged and will enable you to do amazing work helping to grow the digital media offer for the agency.
Responsibilities
Leadership
· To continue to grow a digital team that works seamlessly with the Group Media Directors and their media teams
· To help grow the digital capabilities of the agency
· Support pitches for organic and new business
· Create a team that develops country leading digital strategies and implementation for our clients
· Develop the digital team and be responsible for their growth as digital practitioners
· Be a key contact for the media team for digital strategies
Products, Training and Building relationships
· Provide regular training opportunities for the digital team and broader media team where relevant
· Build strong relationships with key digital leads at clients
· Work with the Head of Media and Data and Technology Director to build relationships with key local and global partners in Japan
· Work closely and build strong relationships with the Indian PGD team and Singapore teams
Requirements
· Circa 8-12 years in industry experience. The variance will depend on practical skills obtained, the amount of experience in a mature market and education qualifications.
· Deep understanding the Digital Media landscape, ideally with a focus on the Japan market, so that we can grow the digital business in Beacon and support the move to digital by our clients.
· Understanding of key digital platforms i.e. FB, Google, LINE, Yahoo, Twitter, Twitch, Snap, TikTok as well as key digital tools, such as DV360, Google Ads etc
· Deep understanding of the Programmatic ecosystem as well as the changes that are happening around data and the move into the cookie less world is key
· Should have practical experience across as many platforms and digital streams as possible, key will being able to help and train the team in Programmatic and Social platforms
· The ideal candidate will be able to inspire the team and clients with their knowledge and passion for digital, be able to move quickly and to help drive change in
· Must be fluent in English, ideally has had experience in a regional role, working with other markets and be culturally sensitive.
