Description

Want to be closely involved on the marketing and sponsorship side of Sports in Japan? We're looking for an Account Director to handle PR, marketing and branding for an official sponsor of the Tokyo Marathon and Formula 1.

Responsibilities

Client Account Management

  • Serve as the senior client partner to several key accounts in Japan.
  • Demonstrate strong strategic leadership in activating partnerships to the highest level
  • Ability to develop and sell in new ideas to evolve work, by working closely with the creative, wider APAC client service and strategy team.
  • As a leader you must have the expertise, gravitas and charisma to cultivate and manage account relationships to be seen and respected as a trusted leader and point-person by the client.
  • You must have clear leadership skills to guide the current Japan team to support their growth and development in client account management.
  • In conjunction with GAD peers, establish region wide processes and implement best practices within Account Management group and other teams as needed

Project Management & Financial Acumen

  • Drive world-class project management and team leadership to ensure successful planning and execution for a new running sponsorship by the Key Account and for other future clients. Work streams include strategic vision, project planning, activation, campaign delivery, experiential, hospitality and more.
  • Lead day-to-day client interface to ensure sound comprehension of project needs including adherence to rights-holder processes, business objectives, budgetary parameters, delivery timelines effectively managing client expectations.
  • Oversee the revenue, profitability and staffing for your key clients, and sign off on SOW/production budget development. Manage finance trackers, budgets, and program reconciliations
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the account team enabling individuals’ growth, whilst providing regular and consistent feedback.
  • Be proactive, seek new opportunities and collaborate with peers across the network for support in account evolution.

Requirements

  • Have a passion and knowledge of the sport and entertainment industry
  • Experienced in leading complex cross-functional projects (inclusive of brand, digital, media, communications, and product streams) across diverse APAC markets
  • Experience in partnerships (in any category, traditional or media) or in sports, gaming, or entertainment
  • Extensive experience of owning and growing positive and effective relationships with senior client stakeholders, resulting in account growth and evolution; ability to cultivate strong relationships with staff, other internal stakeholders, vendors and partners.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, alongside organizational, time and project management skills.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and offer a strong, collaborative and constructive presence and personality in client and internal meetings – communicating with conviction, enthusiasm and confidence.
  • Capacity to quickly become knowledgeable on our clients’ industry, brand and product offerings.
  • Excellent Japanese and English linguistic skills
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel and work weekend/holidays as needed

Salary & Benefits

Salary is up to 11m yen
